The Labour Party’s (LP) Peter Obi, who is running for president, has commended a newlywed couple who participated in Saturday’s “taking back the country” movement in Abuja.
The unnamed couple marched past Abuja’s city gate with supporters who gathered at the Unity Fountain.
The couple whose special day fell on the same day of the rally were captured in their wedding attire marching alongside in solidarity with other supporters.
Reacting to the development, Obi in a statement on Saturday appreciated the coupl, and wished their union a blissful and happy marriage.
Taking to the microblogging platform, Twitter he said, “Salute and congratulations to this newly wedded couple in Abuja, whose special day coincided with the Obidient Family March in Abuja; and they marched too! Wishing you both a blissful and happy married life and children who will grow up in a united, secure and productive Nigeria. -PO”
