The suspect, an indigene of Okija in Anambra State, was arrested in the Okpanam community of Delta State after his wife raised an alarm over the severe abuse of their toddler, Blessing Obi, on the morning of Thursday, August 27, 2026.

According to the victim’s mother, the incident occurred shortly after the family’s morning prayers. The suspect reportedly became violent toward the two-year-old minor following a perceived lack of compliance with a greeting.
