Timawus Mathias, a veteran writer and broadcaster, passed away at the age of 73.
Today, September 9, 2022, a family member, Jiji Mathias announced it via a Facebook post. His long-term illness ended with his death.
He just awoke from a 5-week coma in August and posted updates on his condition and amazing recovery on Facebook.
Born on December 5, 1948, Mathias. Prior to starting his five-decade-long private practice in the media industry, he began his career as a broadcaster with the Nigerian Television Authority Yola.
On his 70th birthday in 2018, President Muhammadu Buhari honored Mathias.
He is survived by his wife, three sons, and one daughter.
