One Chisom Nweke “M,” age 26, of Umuawulu, Awka, was detained by members of the Anambra state police command for reportedly using charms to deceive POS operators.
According to a statement from DSP Ikenga Tochukwu, the state police command’s public relations officer, the suspect admitted to using charms to defraud POS operators in and around Awka.
According to preliminary investigations, the suspect cut white plain papers into money-sized pieces and gave them to the POS operator for deposit. Efforts are in placed to arrest other gang members.
