Sen. Ibrahim Shekarau, the former governor of Kano State, has rejoined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), he was received by PDP Presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.
This occurred on Monday at Shekarau’s Mundubawa residence in Kano State.
In anticipation of Shekarau’s return to the PDP ahead of the 2023 elections, Atiku had embarked on a 3-day visit with his running mate, Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, the PDP national chairman, Iyorchia Ayu, and other party chieftains.
The PDP chieftains arrived in Kano on Sunday and are expected to explore the state in a move to lure more notable politicians ahead of the forthcoming elections.
Shekarau officially announced his defection back to PDP today from the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).
