United Bank for Africa (UBA Plc), one of the biggest commercial banks in the nation, has made the choice to close certain of its branches across the country earlier than usual.
The bank stated that the action is being taken to ensure the security of both its employees and customers in an email that was sent to his customers on Thursday.
The communication, which was viewed by Naijalamp did not however mention the impacted branches and the revised closing time.
It reads : “Notice of Early Closure,
Dear customer,
Please be informed that some of our branches will now close
earlier for the safety of our customers and employees. Our
digital channels will remain available to you 24/7.

Thank you for choosing to bank with us.”
According to Naijalamp, this is the first occasion when the country’s deteriorating security has compelled a major commercial bank to reassess its national closing time. Prior to recently, some banks had to change their daily work schedules due to the high cost of diesel.
