The People’s Redemption Party (PRP) governorship candidate in Ogun State, Prof. David Bamgbose, has passed away.
One week after being introduced by the party chairman, Samson Ogunsanya, on last Saturday, August 27, during a meeting with party officials and stakeholders in Abeokuta, the professor of educational management died unexpectedly.
After a brief illness, Bamgbose died on Friday, September 2, at Lantoro Hospital in Abeokuta.
He was also a clergyman, and Bamgbose had complained of being exhausted the day before. He was brought to a hospital in Olomore, where he was transferred to Federal Medical Central, (FMC), Abeokuta.
His personal assistant, Mr Oduntan Olayemi who confirmed his death said;
“He complained of tiredness on yesterday and we decided to take him to an hospital around Olomore. We were referred to FMC for further checks
“We opted for the state hospital, Lantoro, because of the urgency and he was admitted at the emergency ward where he was administered oxygen till today (Friday).
“I got back to the hospital this morning and I met him breathing too fast and heavy. I got a call from where I went to get him some prescribed medication that he had passed on.”
Bamgbose is survived by his wife, Mary, and six children.
