Ice Prince Zamani, a well-known Nigerian rapper, has been detained at the Ikoyi Correctional Facility under the directive of Ajah Magistrate Court in Lagos.
On Friday, he was arraigned by the Lagos State Police Command for allegedly abducting an officer.
When the accusations were read to the defendant in court, he entered a plea of not guilty.
He was granted bail in the sum of N500,000 by Magistrate Taiwo Oyaniyi, who also required the provision of two sureties.
Until he complies with the bail requirements, Ice Prince will be kept in jail.
The hearing was postponed until September 7.
According to the police, the musician, real name Panshak Henry Zamani, was pulled over for driving without license plates at around 3am in the morning.
Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin noted that he agreed to be taken to the station.
“He, thereafter, abducted the police officer in his car, assaulted him and threatened to throw him in the river”, the spokesman said.
The incident occurred after the police vowed to prosecute singer, Daniel Benson better known as BNXN for assaulting and spitting on an officer.
