Tuesday saw the new Queen’s arrival at the palace of Ooni, Oba Adeyeye Oguwusi, the ruler in Ile-Ife, Osun State.
After a few rites at the palace entrance, the new wife was led inside. She was then led into the palace’s inner court, where her husband and other guests were waiting to receive her.
Around 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday, in a video posted on his spokesperson Moses Olafare’s Facebook page, Oba Ogunwusi welcomed his new wife into the palace with the help of several chiefs and trusted advisors.
The ceremony’s compere also mentioned the presence of the Ooni’s elder brother, Sooko Adegboyega Ogunwusi, as well as the monarch’s other siblings.
Anako’s relatives from Ebiraland in Kogi State and Ilorin in Kwara State were also present during the ceremony, and they each gave the Ooni a warm reception in turn.
The new wife was coming into the palace about 10 months after Naomi Silekunola, the last wife of the monarch left him.
Specifically, Naomi announced separation with the monarch on Thursday, December 23, 2021, thus ended a marriage that produced a son, Tadenikawo and lasted about 3 years.
Ooni’s spokesperson, Moses Olafare, could not be reached for further comment on Wednesday as calls to his line rang out.
