Reuben Azariah, of Tarmana ward, Kaltungo local government area, was detained by Gombe State police command agents for allegedly r#ping a 16-year-old girl on a grave. In a press release sent to media yesterday, Mahid Mu’azu Abubakar, the command’s spokesperson, revealed this.
He said that on September 2, this year, at around 8:30 p.m., the girl’s mother complained that the suspect had taken her daughter to a grave site inside of her house and forcibly had carnal knowledge of her on top of the grave. He claims that after receiving the allegation, police officers from the Kaltungo Division acted swiftly and detained the aforementioned Reuben Azariah.
The victim and suspect were transferred to General Hospital in Kaltungo for medical evaluation, according to Mahid, who also claimed that the matter was being investigated after which it would be taken to court for justice.
