Tope Alabi, a gospel singer, is currently the target of internet mockery and criticism after releasing a song in memory of the late Queen Elizabeth, who passed away on September 8, 2022.
Recall that Queen Elizabeth, who ruled Britain for the longest period of time and served as its symbol for seven decades, passed away at the age of 96.
Gospel musician Tope Alabi produced a video of compiled images of the Queen together with a song written in her honor in an effort to pay respect to her, but many of her fans didn’t like the gesture.
The lyrics of the tribute song reads in part;
“When I heard the news I was shocked and sad, though it’s better on the other side, I know it is peaceful on the other side, but we are pained you had to leave us this soon. We don’t want you to leave, we didn’t plan to pay tributes to pay this soon, you love everyone and you are so kind”
For doing this song, many of her admirers mocked her, crucified her and considered the tribute as “eye service”.
