On Tuesday, September 27, Peter Gregory Obi, Labour Party’s presidential candidate, paid a visit to Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, the Ooni of Ife, in Ile Ife, Osun State.
Cheers erupted when the former governor of Anambra entered the palace.
Peter Obi has been meeting with political figures and monarchs across Nigeria ahead of next year’s election.
Before his arrival in Osun State, he met with Ondo State Governor Rotimi Akeredolu and his wife Betty over the death of the governor’s mother.
Since announcing his interest in the Presidency, Obi has been getting unusual cheers at public functions.
At the national conference organised by the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) in August, lawyers cheered wildly when Obi was introduced.
In July, Obi received a rousing welcome at the Dunamis International Gospel Centre, Abuja.
