In an effort to escape being drafted into the conflict with Ukraine, a Russian man set himself on fire.
On September 26, the man set himself ablaze at the Ryazan bus terminal in the city of Ryazan in the southeast.
This occurs less than a week after President Vladimir Putin declared that up to 300,000 reserve personnel will be “partially mobilized.”

After the flames fizzled out, the man can be seen being escorted to an ambulance by police.
One eyewitness told YA62 that he escaped with minor injuries, while the magazine Novaya Gazeta wrote that he had burns on over 90 percent of his body.
