Bashir Machina applauded the Federal High Court for declaring him as the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial candidate in Yobe North.
Recall that Machina was deemed to be the legitimate candidate in the race against Senate President Ahmad Lawan, who is running on the same ticket for the ruling party.
The court presided over by Justice Fadima Murtala Aminu on Wednesday also ordered the APC and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to recognise Machina as the candidate for Yobe North senatorial district.
Aminu in the ruling held that Machina duly won the APC primary held on 28th May 2022 for the position.
Machina, while reacting to his victory in court on Wednesday in a statement released through his media aide, Husaini Mohammed Isa described it as a victory thats stands for justice.
He said it is time to set aside the differences and work for the victory of the APC in the 2023 general elections.
Machina appreciated his supporters for their prayers and support, adding that he would work hard if he emerge as the lawmaker representing Yobe’s north senatorial district in 2023.
