A bus carrying 40-50 people, including men, women, and children, crashed 1600 feet down a mountain in India, killing 25 people.
The fatal accident occurred on Tuesday night, October 4, 2022, in Uttarakhand’s Pauri Garhwal area, according to Naijalamp.
The bus was conveying wedding guests travelling back from Laldhang in the Haridwar district when it suffered a catastrophic fall off on the road.
The Police in a statement confirmed the development stating that at least 21 people have been saved following an overnight operation.
The statement reads: “Twenty five people were found dead in the Pauri Garwhal bus accident that took place last night in the Birokhal area of Dhumakot. Police and SDRF rescued 21 people overnight; the injured have been admitted to nearby hospitals.
“Around 40-42 people were on the bus, including women and children. We are in continuous touch with the Pauri police and villagers. So far, 15-16 people have been rescued and sent to the nearest hospital.”
