The Owena-Ijesa Progressive Union (OPU) said that all is now set for the first edition of Owena-Ijesa Day Celebration, scheduled to hold on Saturday 10th December, 2022, at Community Grammar School, Owena Ijesa, Osun State, starting from 10:00am.
The special event according to OPU, will provide fun and entertainment to the residents, and would be filled with ceremonial adventure as well as amazing musical performance. Also, the event will feature the launching of N500m development projects which include A Modern Palace and Ultramodern Town Hall.
The Royal Host of the day is ‘Olowena of Owena Ijesa Kingdom’ HRM, Oba Bisiriyu Ayelabola and the Executive Governor of Osun State, Jackson Ademola Adeleke will be the Special Host.
Commending the inspiration behind the ceremony, is a Well-known indigene of the community, Ibrahim Jamiu, aka ‘Apase 1’ who said that “the special event is first of its kind and it’s meant to create a big platform to come together in brotherly unity, to celebrate with peace and mutual love”.
He also said that “despite our religion, ethnics and political differences in Owena-Ijesa, this ceremony is a celebration of love and oneness to strengthen and promote harmony, peace and unity among ourselves in the town”.
Apase stated that the Owena Ijesa Day Celebration is devoted to acknowledge the thousands of families who live and work together to create community of peace and bliss and which according to him is the most important asset for the community. He advised the youths of the Owena Ijesa to re-dedicate themselves to the journey towards greater prosperity that lies ahead of them.
