The Cross River State House of Assembly Speaker, Elvert Ayambem Ekom, has been expelled from the University of Calabar (UNICAL).
The lawmaker was among five hundred and sixty-six students expelled recently by the management of the University over poor Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA).
Ayambem is the Member representing Ikom 2 State Constituency, Cross Rivers State.
A source who confirmed the development to Prime Business News on condition of anonymity said the university published the list of the withdrawn students on Tuesday.
The withdrawal exercise, which affected Ayambem and other students, cut across 100 to 400 levels, affecting 15 faculties and departments.
