The suspension of the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) presidential candidate in the 2023 election, Rabiu Kwankwaso, has created a buzz online.

The aftermath of the 2023 election, the former governor of Kano State met severally with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the poll winner.

Many Nigerians had anticipated that Kwankwaso would be among the cabinet members of President Tinubu, but it did not happen.

However, the Board of Trustees (BoT) of NNPP on Tuesday, suspended the party’s National leader for six months for alleged anti-party activities.

According to Television Continental (TVC), the suspension of Kwankwaso as the party’s national leader comes days after the National Working Committee (NWC) suspended one of the founders of the part, Boniface Aniebonam, and the National Publicity Secretary, Agbo Major.

The latest development has sparked reactions from many Nigerians, while some questioned the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) over the case of the former governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike.

@Shehusky wrote: “Board of trustees of the NNPP suspended Kwankwaso for six months because of anti-party activities. This is how a political party should operate. PDP is still praying, fasting, and consulting oracles over Wike. PDP is corruption.”

@BashirAhmaad wrote: “Wait, is the story I just read that Board of Trustees of the NNPP suspended Sen. Rabiu Kwankwaso for six months due to anti-party activities, true? I thought Kwankwaso owned NNPP, politically.”

@Obioma_Nnamani wrote: “They’ve really been enmeshed in a mud fight in their Party. Suspensions and counter suspensions. How will they even manage a bigger party?”

@CFC_santis wrote: “He is not the creator. He joined NNPP either 2021 or 22. NNPP has been in existence before then”

@youngskidmusic wrote: “A supposed president is being accused of anti-party activities? So this is the type of person NNPP wants to rule Nigeria?. Una dey play”

@wilde_sugar wrote: “Kasala don burst!! Kwankwanso knows that NNPP are like ice cream, they melt so quick. No wonder he’s running from place to place to seek for tasere position to use hold body. Politics no be beans oh”

@DeinmoweiEzi wrote: “Where is he going to go now? Back to PDP or APC?”

@Assunniy_ wrote: “Tinubu betrayed kwankwaso and his party did as well this is just a pleasant news to read and I’m so excited that God answer my prayer let kwankwaso suffer”
