Fatima Salihu Aminu, a final-year biology student of the Usman Danfodiyo University Sokoto, has been reportedly abducted with her parents and sisters by bandits.

Although SaharaReporters could not immediately ascertain when and the actual location the abduction took place, a witness, Mallam Jabir with X handle @Mallam_jabeer, said that they were kidnapped while on their way from Katsina to Sokoto.

According to Jabir, the kidnappers have called and demanded a payment of N10million to secure their release from their captivity.

The tweet reads: “Fatima Salihu Aminu, a final year biology student of Usman Danfodiyo University Sokoto was kidnapped together with her parents and sisters while on their way from Katsina to Sokoto.

“The kidnappers are demanding 10 million naira as ransom.

“We’re calling on the relevant authorities to do all it takes to rescue them and other victims that are still in captivity.

“Nowhere is safe in this country.”

Meanwhile, Nigerians have condemned the incessant kidnapping cases across the country, wondering when it would end.

@jollyigbe lamented that Nigeria is now like a country without government.

“Nigeria is more like a country without government and is gradually collapsing . All we hear Daily is sad news”

@chinasaawo, said that “Kidnappers in various states seem to be competing who does it most but social media is what is giving these leaders a headache.”

For @EAgholor71562, he questioned when news of kidnapping in Nigeria would cease to be heard in the country.

He wrote: “When are we going to stop hearing such news. When will this madness stop? What crime did we commit as a people to deserve all this? This is getting out of hand.

“Every should take extra precautionary measures please, avoid interstate road trips unless absolutely necessary. What do ordinary citizens do to protect themselves against this?”
