Paul Biya’s Daughter Begs Cameroonians Not To Vote Her Father In October Presidential Election

Brenda Biya, daughter of Cameroon’s long-serving president Paul Biya, has urged citizens to vote against him in the October 2025 election.

She made the call during a live session on TikTok and in a video shared on her social media platforms, saying that decades of her father’s rule have left the country in poverty, unemployment, and stagnation.

Paul Biya, who has been in power since 1982, is the world’s oldest serving head of state at 92 and is seeking an eighth term.

His long rule has faced repeated accusations of corruption, authoritarianism, human rights abuses, and disputed elections.

Brenda, popularly known as “King Nasty,” said she no longer sees herself as part of the presidential family and would refuse financial support from her parents.

She accused her uncle, who heads the Civil Cabinet, of wishing her death by overdose, adding that family tensions have worsened over time.

In her message, she apologized to Cameroonians for what she described as the suffering caused by her father’s rule and confirmed she would not vote for him.

She urged citizens to reject the regime, stressing that the country deserves new leadership.

She said, “Do not vote for Paul Biya, not because of me, but because he has made too many people suffer. I hope we will have another president.

“I no longer consider myself part of the presidential family and I will refuse any financial support from my parents.”

Paul Biya had earlier declared his candidacy for the October 12 poll through a statement shared on his official X account in both French and English.

He said his decision was in response to calls from Cameroonians at home and abroad, assuring them of his readiness to face the nation’s challenges.
