My Mother Lived On Medication For 47 Years – APC National Chairman, Yilwatda Reveals
Share

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, has thanked God for the life of his late mother, describing her as a pillar of strength who battled ill health for almost fifty years.

Speaking on Saturday in Jos at the burial programme of his late mother, Nana Lydia Yilwatda, Yilwatda, stated that she lived on medication for 47 years.

“My mother worked for twenty-four hours despite her health condition, supporting us and providing humanitarian assistance,” the APC chairman said.

He also thanked President Bola Tinubu, who graced the burial event alongside his entourage, for his leadership and support, pledging to justify the confidence reposed in him as APC National Chairman.

Recall that Mrs Yilwatda passed away on Sunday, August 17, 2025, at the Jos University Teaching Hospital at the age of 83.

The APC State Publicity Secretary in Plateau, Shittu Bamaiyi, confirmed her passing in a statement made available to newsmen in Jos.

He described the late Mama Lydia as “a devoted Christian, a virtuous woman leader, and a pillar of the Church of Christ in Nations.”

According to him, “The All Progressives Congress in Plateau State received with shock the sad news of the death of the mother of its National Chairman, Mama Lydia Yilwatda.

“Her death is not only a personal loss to the National Chairman but also to the entire APC family in Plateau State and the country at large.”

The statement noted that Mama Lydia, alongside her late husband, Reverend Toma Goshewe Yilwatda, contributed immensely to the growth of the Church of Christ in Nations in Borno, Yobe, Bauchi, and Plateau states.
