Chaos At Abuja Airport As Two Sisters Fight Bitterly After Missing Flight, One Collapses

A mild drama unfolded at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja on Sunday when two sisters got into a violent altercation after missing their NG Eagle flight to an undisclosed destination.

The incident was revealed by the Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection at the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Michael Achimugu, who shared details of the confrontation in a post on X (formerly Twitter).

According to Achimugu, the two women had booked a trip on an NG Eagle flight but arrived late and missed their flight. An argument reportedly broke out between them, allegedly over who was responsible for their lateness, which quickly escalated into a physical fight.

“Two sisters, both adults, booked to travel via a NG EAGLE flight. They missed the flight because they were late. Perhaps one of them blamed her sibling for their missing flight, but these two siblings began to fight each other,” he wrote.

“They scattered luggage and other items before being dragged to the interrogation office by airport security.”

He added that despite security intervention, the sisters resumed their fight inside the interrogation office. In the process, one of them reportedly collapsed, prompting calls for medical assistance.

“Inside, they began to fight again until one of them fainted. Calls were made for an ambulance to take her to the hospital, but her sister said the problem is more spiritual than medical and, therefore, did not need a hospital,” he stated.

Achimugu confirmed that the unconscious woman was eventually taken to the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) clinic within the airport premises, where she was receiving medical attention as of the time of his report.

“Hopefully, she makes a recovery. This is not how things should be,” he added.
