The Kano State Government has demanded the arrest of former Governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.

State Commissioner for Information, Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, made this known on Friday while briefing journalists on the outcome of the state’s executive council meeting.

Waiya stated that bandits have infiltrated Kano communities and abducted several people less than 48 hours after Ganduje’s outburst about wanting to create a militia group in Kano state.

According to Waiya, the state government acknowledges the efforts of President Bola Tinubu to ensure the security of the lives and property of Kano citizens.

He said, “Less than 48 hours of former Governor Ganduje’s outburst of wanting to create a militia group in the state, bandits infiltrated a Kano community and abducted several people.”

Meanwhile, Ganduje recently said that leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State have resolved to begin public endorsements of President Tinubu as the party’s sole presidential candidate for the 2027 general elections.

Ganduje made the remark at the final session of a four-day strategy meeting he convened at his residence in Kano, which brought together APC chairmen, caucus members and key stakeholders from all 44 local government areas.

Ganduje said the consultations were aimed at rebuilding trust within the party and strengthening internal cohesion ahead of 2027.

According to him, “The purpose of this meeting over the last three days has been to ensure complete unity in our party from top to bottom and to reaffirm our solidarity with the Federal Government under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.”

He said the turnout and commitment displayed by delegates from across the state reflected their determination to keep the APC dominant in Kano and nationally.
