Share

The Police Service Commission (PSC), in collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force, has announced the commencement of the recruitment of 50,000 Police Constables into the Force.

The Commission said the exercise follows a directive by the President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, aimed at boosting community policing, enhancing internal security, and expanding the manpower base of the NPF.

In a press release on Thursday (today), the PSC said the recruitment portal has been approved for opening to receive applications from eligible Nigerians.

Qualifications and Requirements

According to the Commission, applicants for the General Duty cadre must possess GCE O-Level, SSCE/NECO or equivalent certificates with a minimum of five credits, including English Language and Mathematics, obtained in not more than two sittings.

For the Specialists cadre, candidates are required to have a minimum of four credits, including English and Mathematics, in not more than two sittings.

The statement added that applicants “must also have a minimum of three years’ experience and relevant Trade Tests in their fields.”

The Commission listed the conditions applicants must meet, including:

  • Must be Nigerian citizens by birth
  • Must be 18–25 years old for General Duty and 18–28 years for Specialists
  • Must be medically, physically and psychologically fit
  • General Duty candidates must not be less than 1.67m (male) and 1.64m (female) in height
  • Must meet other requirements that will be detailed on the portal

Police Recruitment Portal Closing Date

The PSC said the recruitment portal will be open from Monday, December 15, 2025, to Sunday, January 25, 2026.

“All applications must be submitted online through the official recruitment portal: www.npfapplication.psc.gov.ng,”
The Commission stated.

It emphasised that the entire process will be transparent, merit-based and credible.

According to the statement, “Application is FREE as there will be NO PAYMENT required at any stage of the process, and applicants are warned to be wary of fraudsters.”

The Commission noted that detailed guidelines and requirements will be available on the portal once it is activated on December 15, as well as on the official websites and social media pages of the PSC and NPF.

The PSC urged all qualified Nigerians to seize the opportunity, saying the recruitment drive is a chance to “serve the nation.”
