“Muhammad vs Jesus” – Ex-Muslim Man Explains Why He Left Islam For Christianity
Share

A man identified as Samuel Ahmad has sparked reactions online after sharing his reasons for leaving Islam and embracing Christianity.

In a Facebook post, Ahmad urged people to study Islam through the life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad, claiming that doing so strengthened his decision to leave the religion and follow Jesus Christ.

“CAREFULLY STUDY ISLAM THROUGH THE LIFE OF PROPHET MOHAMMED and you will see more reasons why I debunked Islam and I embrace Jesus who is God,” he wrote.

Ahmad compared Islamic and Christian texts, arguing that the teachings and actions attributed to Prophet Muhammad differed from those of Jesus Christ.

He wrote that Jesus “never at once called for violence against anybody who opposed him,” while citing Islamic and Christian scriptures to support his views.

“Allah is an enemy of disbelievers (Qur’an 2:98). Jesus is love and desires everyone to be saved, and that none should perish,” he wrote, citing John 3:16, 1 John 4:8 and 1 Timothy 2:3–4.

He also contrasted passages and historical accounts relating to forgiveness and violence.

“Muhammad murdered those who insulted him (Bukhari 56:369, 4:241). Jesus preached forgiveness,” Ahmad wrote, referencing Matthew 5:38–39 and 18:21–22.

He further cited Qur’an 9:123 and Matthew 5:5:

“Muhammad said, ‘O you who believe! Fight those of the unbelievers who are near to you and let them find in you hardness.’”

He contrasted the passage with Jesus’ teaching: “Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.”

The ex-Muslim also referenced Qur’an 5:33 while contrasting his interpretation of the verse with the Christian belief in Jesus’ crucifixion.

“Muhammad advocated crucifying others who oppose him. Jesus was himself crucified for the benefit of others,” he wrote, citing several passages from the Bible.

Ahmad said his decision to embrace Christianity represented a change in how he views life and personal priorities.

Quoting John 21:22, he wrote, “If it is my will that he remain until I come, what is that to you? You follow me!”

He added that becoming a Christian meant placing Jesus above personal desires.

“When we come to Christ, we’re no longer the most important person in the world to us; Christ is. Instead of living only for ourselves, we have a higher goal: to live for Jesus,” he wrote.

Ahmad’s post has since drawn reactions online, with social media users sharing different views about his comparison of Islam and Christianity.
