The Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Olakunle Oluomo, has been detained by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
According to sources, Oluomo was detained this morning at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport in Lagos, at 9 am.
The sources further stated that he was approached by EFCC representatives to respond to inquiries on possible financial crimes.
The Commission’s top officials have remained silent over the arrest, but they are anticipated to make a statement soon.
However, a source within the Commission acknowledged that the Ogun State Speaker had declined many invitations from the EFCC.
He is now being questioned at the EFCC’s Lagos office.
